Can 1 link make all the difference?

I recently posted about a client’s site I’m trying to optimize for the keyphrase “safety signs” and I’ve also been trying out Axandra’s Internet Business Promoter software, particularly it’s niche directory submission feature. There’s also an interesting “top 10 inbound links analyzer” feature that checks the site you want to optimize against the current top 10 results for a particular keyword and makes suggestions for changes to help your site rank higher. Whilst analyzing my client’s site it pointed out that the top result for “safety signs” only had 1 back link showing on Google and it’s anchor text contained the words “safety” and “signs” whereas my client’s site had no such anchor text. So can one back link make all the difference? Watch this space…
